It’s been stated that the human body is an adaptation machine. When the loading or training stimulus is targeted to the event goals, the human body will adapt to that stimulus. Everything we do in training will shape the way we perform. A proper and logical sequence of training must take place to build towards the end goal of peaking for one or more events on your calendar. It requires a constant balance of overload, recovery, and adaptation.

Coaching involves the blending of cycling sport science with the art of specific adjustments catered to the individual rider to optimize their training, preparation, and overall performance. Every cyclist, from the weekend warrior to the professional rider, has different goals, different experience, different physiology, a different background, a different life situation, and different reasons for riding, so no “one size fits all” approach should be taken with training. Specific structure should be built around the individual’s available time to train, their abilities, and their goals. At VeloCoach, our coaches apply the science of training with the art of adjusting to individual variations with all our athletes so they achieve optimal results.
